For many people there’s a lot of mystery around Search Engine Optimization (SEO). We’ll introduce a simple framework for understanding how search engines work and discuss the basics of how to optimize a website to create maximum visibility in the organic results. The beauty of SEO is that it not only helps build traffic to your website; it improves the user experience, encourages you to understand your target audience, and helps you promote and get the best ROI out the time and money you spend on content development. “Build it and they will come” just doesn’t work; SEO strategies will help you make sure your website gets seen by the customers and community you care about!

Ben LeFort Bio: Ben LeFort is long-time resident of Milwaukee who has worked in publishing and nonprofits, honed specialized marketing skills at top-notch agencies, run a solo marketing consultancy for social enterprises, and started up a local firm focused solely on Search Engine Optimization (SEO). In addition to helping dozens of companies and nonprofits in a wide array of verticals use SEO to generate valuable traffic from search engine results pages, over the years Ben has cultivated a deep knowledge of how organizations can engage their target audiences by developing efficient, comprehensive, ROI-focused strategic marketing plans. He’s a passionate social entrepreneur and currently serves as an organizing committee member for Fund Milwaukee, which connects local businesses looking to grow with local investors.
